Free Assessment
A 3-step process to better understand your situation, evaluate our services, and determine if we are a good fit to help you.
We built our firm to help our clients address the financial,
emotional, and lifestyle challenges that come with retirement.
We do our best work with:
Age 55+
Individuals and couples that are 55+ and are retired or close to it.
Diligent Savers
Investors with $1M or more in retirement savings but aren’t clear how to best turn their assets into income.
Value Professional Advice
Individuals that want to work with a specialized team of retirement planners so they can relax and enjoy retirement.
Free Retirement Assessment
A 3-step process to improve your retirement outcomes.
Schedule a Short Call
Let's set up a 20-minute call to ensure that your needs align with our expertise. Just like you wouldn’t see a cardiologist for a hip replacement, we want to ensure we’re a good fit to provide you with the help you need.
Team Meeting
Like a doctor, it's important that we fully understand your situation before we make recommendations. The next step is to meet with our team (either virtually or in-person), where we’ll spend about 1 hour together to ensure we are absolutely clear about your goals, concerns, and resources.
Discuss Assessment
Once your assessment is complete, we’ll schedule a final 1-hour meeting to go over our findings and recommendations to improve your situation. We’ll provide our feedback in plain language and provide recommended “Action Steps” to enhance your retirement plan, optimize your investment strategy, navigate healthcare, and reduce your taxes.
Think about it...
At the conclusion of this process, we’ll simply ask you to consider it. We prioritize building lasting relationships over quick transactions. If you feel we're not the right match, we'll gladly assist you in finding another professional with the expertise you need - there's never any pressure to say "yes".
Here’s some additional information, if you still have questions.
Why should I work with Compass Financial Group?
That’s easy - because all we do is retirement planning. Our process, training, software and knowledge are all designed for one purpose; to help our clients make the most of their retirement.
You should consider working with us if you want to:
- Turn your savings & investments into a tax-efficient stream of income.
- Keep your taxes as low as possible during retirement.
- Build an investment portfolio for your retired years, focusing on preserving what you've built and seeking modest growth.
- Enjoy retirement and partner with a team that can do much of the heavy lifting for you.
- Have a financial professional to help you if things take an unexpected turn.
We invite you to review our Case Studies, read our Blog, or review our Services for more information.
What does it cost to work with you?
You should only hire a financial advisor if their fee is outweighed by the value they provide.
This means:
The time you save + tax savings + improved outcomes needs to be greater than the fee paid.
We charge a flat fee for retirement planning, which depends on the complexity of your plan and the hours required to complete it.
For investment management, we charge an asset-based fee based on the amount we manage for you.
We offer discounts on our planning fee if we manage assets over $1M, and we eliminate planning fees entirely for assets over $2M.
Our free retirement assessment enables us to create a specific proposal for you, quantify the benefits you will receive, and summarize our fees so you can make an informed decision about hiring us.
How does your business operate?
We understand that it's hard to tell financial advisors apart. We all promise excellent service and use words like “diversification”, “holistic” and “comprehensive."
There are three key points that define us:
- We don’t dabble in retirement planning, it's all we do. Unlike some advisors that do a little bit of everything, retirement planning is our sole focus. Just as you wouldn't rely upon your general practitioner for heart surgery, we don't believe you should trust your retirement to a generalist.
- We build a team around our clients. Our clients benefit from the collective expertise of our entire team, rather than just one advisor. This team-based approach allows you to leverage the diverse experience, training, and specialized knowledge of all our team members, ensuring you receive the best possible advice and support. You will also have access to our extended network of partners, such as CPAs, Aging Life Care Managers, attorneys, and insurance agents.
- We keep our client-to-advisor ratio low to ensure we can truly get to know you and your needs. By keeping each advisor to a limited number of households, we can provide highly personalized service and build the relationships we value with our clients.

Can we work with you if we don’t live in the area?
Absolutely! We have clients around the US.
We hold regular meetings with our clients that live remotely via Zoom video conferencing. Our planning is cloud based and secure, so you can communicate with us and access your financial plan & investment accounts in a secure and convenient way.
How long does the financial planning process take?
The time required to complete your financial plan can vary since we need your information and input. Typically, your initial plan is completed within 45-60 days.
During the planning process, we will likely suggest several improvements. We’ll collaborate with you over the following months to implement the recommendations you agree with.
If you need assistance from professionals like CPAs or attorneys, we will connect you with our strategic partners during the implementation of your financial plan.
How often will we meet and speak with you if we become a client?
A frequent complaint we hear from clients is that their previous advisor seldom communicated with them.
To demonstrate our commitment to personalized service, we use an annual Service Calendar. This allows us to regularly check in with you and ensure that no aspect of your ongoing planning is overlooked.
We understand that communication is even more critical during market disruptions, so we increase our contact with you during these periods.
Schedule your 20-minute call.
Our calendar may have limited availability as we prioritize providing exceptional service to our current clients. If you can't find a suitable time, please call our office at (919) 714-7491, and we will do our best to accommodate your schedule.
